Resume: Eva is currently a postdoc in the Semantic Technologies Lab, at the research institute ISTC-CNR in Rome, Italy. The main topic of the postdoc research is methods for user centered selection and use of ontology design patterns in ontology engineering. Especially interesting is the matching between ontology requirements, e.g. Competency Questions, and patterns. User studies are being carried out in order to validate the patterns as such as well as the eXtreme Design method (a proposed methodology for pattern-based design). Other research interests include methods and tools for automatic ontology construction (Ontology Learning).

Eva defended her Ph.D. thesis in April this year, at Linköping University. However, during her Ph.D. studies she was employed at the department for Electronic and Computer Engineering, at the School of Engineering of Jönköping University, and this is where the research was conducted in practice. Prof. Kurt Sandkuhl, Jönköping Univeristy, was the main supervisor and Prof. Henrik Eriksson, Linköping University, the assistant supervisor. Opponent for the defense was Prof. Enrico Motta of the Knowledge Media Institute at the Open University in Milton Keynes, UK.

Since 2003 Eva holds a Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Linköping University with Software Engineering as the major, and Security in Sensor Networks as subject for the Master’s Thesis.
